This chocolate cake is my current favorite bake. It doesn't need any frosting and tastes delicious as is.
It is rich is texture and chocolatey enough to satisfy my cravings.
You can Sprinkle the top with chocolate chips or chunks before baking to bite into melted chocolate.
This recipe uses oil instead of butter as the fat content.
I've used walnuts in this Recipe. But you can use almonds also or skip the nuts altogether.
Dry ingredients :
3/4 cup flour
2 cups sugar
3/4 cup cocoa
1 .5 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Wet ingredients :
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1 cup milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
1tbsp vinegar
1cup hot water
Method :
Mix vinegar with milk and keep aside.
Add all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix them well
Add the wet ingredients in a another bowl and whisk or blend until well incorporated.
Now add the dry ingredients gradually into the wet ingredients mixing well to avoid lumps.
Add the walnuts and give it a slight mix.
Pour into a baking dish lined with butter paper.
Pop it into the oven and bake at 180 degrees for 35 to 40 mins.
Note.
The baking time varies depending upon the oven.
Here I've mentioned to line the dish with butter paper. Alternatively you can Grease your baking dish with oil, ghee or butter generously and dust with flour before pouring the batter.
